The
scanners can be used purely as microfilm scanners, to create a digital archive
of microfilm or used as a reader printer, sending prints to standard network
printers (with graphic capabilities).
The light bulb display on the scanner means that the user can see the image that
is being scanned and adjust thresholding accordingly, which also means these
scanners can be used as a simple microfilm viewer
The
scanner can also be linked to dedicated printers, so that users can operate the
system as a traditional reader printer, but also have the benefit of scanning
when required.
